Brass Alloys We Work With (Including Lead‑Free)

We machine standard and specialty brass alloys. We are reliable for sourcing materials, and we will work with customer-supplied material if you have specific certifications or leftover material from previous orders.

    • C360 Free-Cutting Brass - This brass has the best machinability of any of the brass alloys, and it is a good choice for high-volume production. C360 is an excellent choice for screws, bolts, and other threaded parts, as well as for turned parts.

    • C260 Cartridge Brass - C260 has good workability when cold worked and is a good brass for making deeper drawn parts and thin-walled parts.

    • C37700 Forging Brass - Ideal for making forged connectors and for high strength applications.

    • Lead-free brass (C46400, C69300) - Safe for drinking water lines. Both C46400 and C69300 conform to the safer water standards of NSF/ANSI 61 as well as to the RoHS standards.

    • C101 / C110 Copper - Used to manufacture grounding conductors, heat exchangers and bus bars.

    • Silicon bronze - Ideal for marine and saltwater applications where corrosion resistance is very important.

All of our materials can be supplied with mill certification upon request. Additionally, we can conduct testing on materials for critical aerospace and/or medical applications if you require certification for material.

Industries We Serve with Precision Brass Components

We provide custom machining services on brass to support many different types of industries. Here are a few typical examples of the types of items we create.

    • Plumbing and HVAC made from brass will include valve bodies, compression fittings, adapters, and manifolds.

    • Electronics and telecommunications applications will include connector pins, RF terminals, grounding lugs, and heat sinks.

    • Automotive (cars) and Heavy truck applications will include fuel system fittings, brake components, and sensor housings made from brass.

    • Medical device applications will include surgical instrument handles, fluid control fittings, and dental tool components made from brass.

    • Industrial applications will include pneumatic fittings, hydraulic manifolds, and gauge adapters made from brass.

    • Oil and Gas or instrumentation made from brass will include high-pressure brass fittings, gauge snubbers, and orifice plates made from brass.

Regardless of your industry, we use strict quality control to ensure quality standards are adhered to. Inspection processes include both in-process and at end-of-production using CMM, thread gauges, and optical measurement technologies to ensure accuracy. For high-volume production items, we utilize SPC (Statistical Process Control) techniques to ensure the consistency across 10's of thousands of products.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

    1. Can you give me the minimum quantity for a custom brass part?

We have no minimum quantity. For prototype quantities, we will accept orders for as few as 50 pieces. We also manufacture very high volumes, 100,000+ pieces. Just tell us what you need.

    2. Can you machine drinking water lead free brass?

Yes. We machine lead free brass (C46400, C69300) that meets the NSF/ANSI 61 standard, and each shipment comes with a certification of the material.

    3. What is the tolerance you can hold for small brass part tolerances?

For small brass parts, we hold tolerance +/-0.0004″ (0.01mm) on diameter, and we can hold even tighter tolerances using grinding or secondary finishing for critical features like bearing journals, etc.

    4. Do you offer CNC turning and CNC milling for brass?

Yes! We are both CNC brass turning suppliers, and CNC brass milling manufacturers. Our live-tool Swiss lathes also allow us to incorporate turning and milling in one process, making both more accurate, and reducing manufacturing time.

    5. What is the average lead time for brass part orders?

Typical lead time for brass orders of medium size (1,000 to 5,000) is 3-4 weeks after approved samples. Typical lead time for high volume orders (50,000 to more than 5,000) is 5-6 weeks. We offer rushes - just ask.

    6. Are you ISO compliant?

Yes. We operate with an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. We have our processes audited annually to verify compliance. We are able to meet specific quality requirements for individual customers.

    7. Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship all over the world; North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, South America, and the Middle East. We take care of all export documentation for you and can ship either air or ocean freight.

    8. Will you help me redesign my brass parts to save me money?

Absolutely! When you send us an engineering drawing for a quote, we will review it for manufacturability. If we think that there is a way to simplify the design to reduce cycle times or change to a more cost effective brass alloy, we will let you know as part of our service, at no charge to you.

    9. Why would I pick Falcon CNC Swiss over other brass parts manufacturers?

Because we can offer you the best of Swiss precision, large volume operation, secondary operations in-house, and a customer-first approach. We treat your project as if it were our own from the first quote to the last shipment, and that's why our customers remain with us for years.
